Papillion Middle School Jazz Bands

Papillion Middle School currently has two jazz bands. The Titan Jazz Band is the top performing ensemble at PMS and has a history of outstanding performances.  In 2018-19, TJB was awarded Superior ratings at both UNO Jazz Fest and the Platteview Music Contest.  In 2019-20, the group received 1st Place out of all Jr. High Jazz Bands at the Bellevue East Jazz Festival.  TJB also performs locally in the community as well as a winter tour of elementary schools in the district.  This is an audition-based ensemble that begins rehearsals late August.  Titan Jazz Band rehearses Tuesday and Friday mornings from 7:15am - 7:50am.

Our Cadet Jazz Band is primarily made up of 7th graders and begins rehearsing following Winter Break.  This ensemble exists for students to begin exploring the musical language of jazz and learning about improvisation.  Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:30am - 8:15am.
